Capturing the miniature landscape inside a snowball souvenir launches us on a journey of the imagination. The set for this world tour is the studio, but first one has to go the rounds of the mass tourist resorts, hunting boules de neige to photograph. What first looks like a slice of real landscape turns out to have something fictional about it. Direct representation of the world gives way to a more complex dimension, steeped in ambiguity.
